A Unique Trillion Cut Engagement Ring: How It's Made

Trillion Silhouette Engagement Ring InfographicDo you love the unusual appeal of a trillion shaped engagement ring?  I'm pleased to introduce a new Mokume Engagement Ring style to our expanding collection. The Trillion Silhouette Engagement Ring is a new adaptation of our popular Mokume Diamond Silhouette Engagement Ring.

What makes the Trillion Silhouette Engagement Ring so unique is the center stone shape. A trillion (also named "trilliant" or "trillian") is a triangular shaped stone, often with pointed corners or in the case of our pictured designer cut stone, with cut-corners. So if you are looking to vary your options from the classic round or princess cut stone, consider a trillion!

Meteorite Engagement Rings: Out-of-This-World!

When it comes to designing your own engagement ring, most of us want anything but cookie cutter. In fact, the more unique and special, the better—which is a big reason couples are flocking to rings made of Gibeon meteorite.

This warm grey material is truly like nothing on earth. For starters, it’s tough to find; it’s exclusively found in Namibia, in a huge field of meteorites that are millions of years old. (Thanks to our partnership with Lashbrook, we’re one of the few jewelers who offer it.) Also, because this space rock crystallizes in a unique pattern when it crosses into our atmosphere, every piece is slightly different. This is especially evident during polishing and etching, when those prized crystal formations appear. More...

The New Tradition in Bridal Jewelry? Having No Tradition at All

A few years ago, we noticed that our brides and grooms were bypassing the traditional in favor of something a little less mainstream. And these days, there’s no such thing as “normal” anymore: Some brides wear one ring instead of two. Many have no idea what their engagement rings will look like, while others are heavily involved in the design from the very beginning. Brides and grooms are pushing the envelope even more, choosing pieces that not only speak to them but also represent who they are. Considering that we customize everything from our ringtones to our running shoes, it only makes sense that people want the same level of personalization with their bridal jewelry. More...

Yes, you read that correctly.  These are my seven favorite ring designs that haven't made it to the goldsmiths bench, or to a warm finger.   These babies just dance around in the back of my head, calling out every now and then.  What they really need is a warm home!  Weigh in; which one is your favorite?

Amazing Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Design
Amazing Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Design

This over the top decorative mokume gane engagement ring and men's wedding band were designed for a client based upon our Falling Water Mokume Engagement Ring.  In this design, all the little white dots are pave diamonds.  There is some negative space in the engagement ring, lightening it up and giving it truly a sculptural appearance.  The men's band has the same diamond pave design as the engagement ring.  Can't you can see this with black diamonds?
