For Your Custom Jewelry Made by Krikawa
Trust Krikawa to maintain and repair your custom Krikawa Jewelry and help you redesign your old jewelry. Many of our designs are highly technical, crafted from unusual materials, and using proprietary techniques. We do not currently perform minor repairs for non-Krikawa jewelry.
Shipping Your Jewelry To Krikawa
- When shipping your jewelry for repair, include a Jewelry Repair Form in your shipment so we know how to contact you when it arrives.
- Seal your jewelry in a box or padded envelope so it does not jostle about during transit.
- Place your items into a larger box for shipping. Securely tape the ends of the box shut.
- Do NOT write the word "jewelry" anywhere on the outside of the package.
- Use a trackable delivery method and make sure you have insurance for your item with full replacement value during transit.
- Email or call us with your tracking number to let us know the item is on the way.

Classic Repair Services for Your Custom Krikawa Jewelry
"Back to Factory" Ring Refinishing
A routine refinishing of your ring is recommended no more than once a year. Typical refinishing is called "back to factory service," and, in line with industry standards, our service includes stone check and tightening, light sanding, and polishing.
"Back to factory" is not the same as "new."
Additional fees include:
- Replacing missing or cracked accent stones
- Laser filling deep gouges, dents, or scratches
- Plating or darkening
- Re-tipping or re-pronging claws or bezels
Mokume Refinishing Service
If your ring has Mokume Gane, our signature service is Mokume Refinishing, which we recommend at least biannually. During this service, we will refresh your Mokume (buff & blast), check and tighten stones, and polish the ring.

Some clients prefer the patina of wear that is natural with the aging of precious metal. If you prefer the aged look of your mokume gane, let us know!
Mokume Refinishing Services does not include:
- Replacing missing or cracked accent stones
- Laser filling deep gouges, dents, or scratches
- Re-tipping, or re-pronging prongs or bezels.
We will supply an estimate for any additional services.
Ring Resizing Options
Do you have a ring you can't wear because it is the wrong size?
We can determine your proper size and resize your gold or platinum ring up or down. Some eternity designs cannot be resized.
Sizing beads are a great option if you have large knuckles, if your finger swells and shrinks significantly (seasonal, arthritis, etc), to avoid spinning for top-heavy rings, or if you have a ring that is not recommended for sizing.
Other Common Repair Services
- Jewelry Cleaning and Inspections: Would you like a refreshing steam clean for your diamonds and other jewelry? Have your jewelry refreshed and inspected for wear and tear.
- Thin Shank: Do you have a ring with a thin, bent, or worn shank? A new quarter- or half-shank will make your ring safe and comfortable to wear.
- Prong Retipping: Having the prongs checked annually for wear can help prevent stone loss.
- Stone Tightening: Is your stone rattling in its setting? Be sure to get your stone tightened to prevent loss.
- Precious Gemstone Replacement: We can match and replace just about any gemstone, whether it is a large single stone or channel-set, bezel-set, or pave-set stones.
Damaged Engagement Rings or Wedding Bands
We recommend having your jewelry cleaned and inspected by a professional jeweler annually. All routine maintenance, re-sizing, and repairs are priced individually based on the piece. Our standard labor charge is $180 per hour. We charge for material, labor, and shipping.
To give you an accurate repair quote, we must physically inspect the piece. Please understand that we are unable to provide repair quotes over the telephone.
After repair, we return your jewelry to you via FedEx TWO-DAY delivery (domestic), fully insured. (Special rules apply to international repair shipments; please ask our repair team.)
