Mountains settle the soul: Capturing Your Love in a Mountain Wedding Ring
"Climb every mountain!" is a timeless directive that has pulled on millions of souls around the world. For those of us who feel a deep connection to the natural world, the mountains are more than just landscapes—they’re sanctuaries. Majestic, grounding, and timeless, mountains have a way of putting everything into perspective.

I love going to the mountains. Hiking, camping, or just driving through; time spent in the mountains quiets my mind and nourishes my spirit. My husband and I went camping on our very first date. And when we got married two years later, we spent more than half of our three-week honeymoon camping under the stars. It felt right. It felt real. There’s something about waking up to crisp alpine air and the sound of wind in the pines that reminds you what actually matters. After even just a day or two in the mountains, my mind clears.  The static of daily life—emails, errands, obligations—fades into the background. What’s left is a greater sense of clarity. As John Muir put it, "The clearest way to the universe is through a forest wilderness."

That's part of what I love about our Mountain Engagement Rings and our Mountain Wedding Rings. These rings are more than symbolic. They’re a visual and tactile reminder of the places that ground us, that elevate our spirits, and that often mark life’s most memorable moments. What better way to ground yourself and your loved one than with wedding bands that capture the mountains that capture your soul? I believe that many couples have experienced this clarity of self, and deep appreciation for each other, when they spend time away from the noise of modern life and connect in (and with) nature.
Grand Tenton and Snowy Mountains Range - Mountain Wedding Bands

Our first mountain ring design, now a Krikawa classic, was inspired by our own backyard: the Catalina Mountains. There was an instant attraction to developing and designing the ring by our entire team. The silhouette of the peaks, the ridges and valleys—our entire team was drawn to the idea. What sets the design apart is the gorgeous hand-carving that captures the cracks, crevices, and contours of the actual landscape. It’s not just a shape; it’s a story, carved into precious metal.

Carving the Mountain Wedding Ring

When a client falls in love with the mountain ring idea, the process becomes deeply personal. We begin with your favorite mountain range—whether it’s the Grand Tetons, the Rockies, the Appalachians, or a lesser-known peak that holds meaning for you. If you have personal photos, our designers will use your photos to map around the band, creating a custom wraparound landscape highlighting the range features that are special to you.

Which metal resonates with you? Your Krikawa designer can help you visualize the mountain ring in different colors, through a simple trick of Photoshop.

After finalizing the layout and picking the metal color combination, our CAD artist models in the silhouette of the mountain. Lacking detail of the finished piece, the silhouette becomes a general guide for our master goldsmith to create and sculpt a ring of extraordinary detail and complexity. Of course, as each mountain ring is handmade to order, the mokume and hand carving are unique to each ring we make.

Grand Tenton and Snowy Mountain Ranges Sketch to Ring

Over the years, we’ve expanded the collection of mountain range rings. We can customize your ring with a single stone or several diamonds, creating a Starry Night sky over a favorite Mountain range. Our Mountain bands with Mokume Sky add depth and visual texture to the ring. For an added personal touch, you can even add your favorite animal—a bear, buffalo, or even Bigfoot— turning your ring into a truly one-of-a-kind tribute to your wild side. For clients who want a subtler nod to nature, the Mokume Symbol Ring offers a symbolic landscape rather than a literal one.

So--what mountain speaks to you?  Whether it’s where you met, where you got engaged, or where you find your center, we can help you encapsulate that special place in a wearable work of art. A Krikawa mountain ring is more than jewelry. It’s a tribute to love, to nature, and to the power of place.

Let’s carve your story into metal—one peak at a time.

My fiance is planning to be a pastor. I’d love to do something special and unique for him such as this. Mount Olivet in Jerusalem is the range I’d like to have done for him. I have some clear images of it, if it’s something you have not done before. I’d like more information on this if possible! Much appreciated, and God bless

I am not good at favorites, but two mountain ranges I am drawn to are the Sawtooths in Idaho and the Wallowas in Oregon. Right in my backyard and both equally stunning in their own way. Your mnt. range rings are beautiful. Keep up the good work.
